Scooters Coffee
Scooter's Coffee is a thriving coffee house quickly becoming the number one drive-through coffee franchise in the nation. When they came to Next Movement, Scooter's (then Scooter's Coffee House) had 70 franchises throughout the Midwest - and big goals.
Scooter's objectives were to strengthen the brand and boost exposure, along with increasing sales on a limited advertising budget. Next Movement approached these goals by first assessing the chain's existing locations and reputation. We noticed that, while the Scooter's product itself was outstanding, there was a lack of consistency among franchises. This was corrected by creating a list of rules for franchises related to presentation; producing professional food photography that provided each location with consistent, upscale artwork; and updating all menu boards and drive-through menus to be uniform and visually appealing, utilizing the new suite of photographs. As a result, the product was given a high-end, stylish treatment, immediately fortifying the Scooter's brand.
Working within the confines of Scooter's budget, Next Movement bolstered sales by harnessing the power of grassroots campaigns. One such approach was a window sticker for customers' cars, which was free to the consumer and provided ten percent off at the drive-through window. This campaign allowed customers to share in brand ownership, turning their vehicles into mobile advertising while also offering an increased value that rewarded returning clients. Next Movement also created corporate promotions that were consistent across all locations and provided franchises with coordinated collateral including all of the promotional materials and details for every deal.
Lastly, Next Movement coordinated monthly correspondence with all franchise locations. Through materials such as a monthly newsletter, Scooters benefitted from dramatically enhanced communication between corporate headquarters and franchise owners, resulting in a streamlined business model and consistency customers could count on across the entire brand.
Over the course of a year, Next Movement helped develop Scooter's to the point where it was advantageously sold, and now has over 120 franchises in ten states.
